Michael Assaf was born in Jerusalem and holds a master’s degree in cello performance from the Jerusalem academy of music and dance, under the guidance of Prof. Shmuel Magen. Michael has also studied at the Music College in Karlsruhe, Germany, with Prof. Martin Ostertag and Prof. Michael Uhde.
Michael has participated in many master classes, amongst others with Janos Starker, Wolfgang Boetcher, Wolfgang Laufer and Uzi Wiezel. He has received scholarships from the American-Israeli culture fund, and won first prizes in duo and chamber music competitions both from the Jerusalem academy and Karlsruhe Music College.
Michael was a member of the Jerusalem chamber orchestra and the Jerusalem string orchestra, with which he has appeared on tours in Israel and Germany with celebrated clarinetist Giora Feidmann. A few years ago, Michael founded the “Ram” Piano trio, with which he performs regularly on various stages including the international chamber-music festival “Kfar blum”, the Jerusalem theatre, Targ center, and the Mormon University.
Giulia Saveria Valli was born in 2000 and graduated summa cum laude at high school.
She started playing the piano in 2014 with Lorella Ruffin and graduated summa cum laude in Pianoforte at the Padua Conservatory. Now she is studying at Accademia del Ridotto with Roberto Cappello, she is attending the Master Degree in Chamber Music with Aldo Orvieto at Padua Conservatory and she is studying Physics of the Fundamental Interactions at Padua’s University.
